Afternoon Tea is a long-standing tradition introduced in England in 1830. It’s meant to signal a time of day to settle in, take a breath, and spend quality time with friends and family over warm tea and delicious bite-sized food. At FRIEDA, afternoon tea is an expression of simplicity and authenticity – a way of combining traditions of the past and present.
It’s easy to be intimidated by Afternoon Tea, but there is no need for concern at FRIEDA. It’s a place where everyone is welcome. It’s an inviting space with people that make it feel like home. This is evident in the collection of teapots from Germany and Sweden, as well as customers who pass down family heirlooms with assurance that they will be respected.
You can make tea at home, but there is something remarkable about sitting with others or on your own, with a sea of people around you, taking time to sit down and breathe. A blanket-like tranquility falls over the room. It’s a bookend to your day that will leave you satisfied, full, and warm.
The food (the perfect balance of sweet and savory) is prepared for you and designed by David with the help of the inter-generational team (18–80 years old). Scones, curry chicken, smoked salmon bites, and seasonal desserts give you an array of flavors to enjoy. We’re confident that you’ll leave FRIEDA satisfied and relaxed.
There’s no need to rush.
